What Is The Difference Between Cultus VXR & VXL

In 2017, Suzuki Pakistan introduced a fully-equipped hatchback car called the New Suzuki Cultus to the Pakistani auto market. The New Suzuki Cultus comes equipped with an impressive 1.0L K-series engine, providing fuel efficiency. Additionally, it features dual SRS airbags for enhanced safety. Despite its modern features, critics have voiced concerns about its high price compared to other hatchbacks in the market. Many market analysts and experts suggest that at this price range, there are better options available, including imported Japanese cars.

The company released two variants of the New Suzuki Cultus: the Suzuki Cultus VXR and the Suzuki Cultus VXL.

Suzuki Cultus Specifications

Suzuki Cultus has a 3-cylinder DOHC 12-valve engine, offering a displacement of 998 cc. This engine configuration enables the Cultus to generate 67 horsepower at 6000 RPM and a torque of 90 Nm at 3500 RPM. It runs on petrol and has a fuel tank capacity of 35 liters. The car provides an average fuel efficiency of approximately 14 km/l in the city and 18 km/l on highways.

The Cultus has a manual 5-speed transmission, enabling smooth gear shifts. It boasts a minimum turning radius of around 4.7 meters, making it maneuverable in tight spaces. The front suspension features Macpherson Strut with Coil Springs, while the rear suspension consists of Torsion Beam with Coil Springs. The rear brakes are of the drum type, while the front brakes are ventilated discs. It comes with original equipment (OE) tires sized 165/65 R14, and the wheel size is 14 inches. However, it is possible to install larger tires within the recommended size limits specified by the company.

There are some differences between the New Suzuki Cultus VXR and VXL, which are given as under.

Price Difference between New Cultus 2022 VXR & VXL

The primary and significant distinction between the two variants of the new Suzuki Cultus is their pricing. The base variant, Cultus VXR, has a price tag of 3,718,000 Pakistani rupees. On the other hand, the high-end variant, New Cultus VXL, is priced at PKR 4,084,000.

The Difference in Wheel type

Cultus VXL comes with alloy wheels while VXR has steel Rims with wheel cups.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)

The Suzuki Cultus VXL has the Anti-lock Braking System with Electronic Brake Force Distribution (ABS with EBD) as its advanced braking system, while the Cultus VXR has a standard braking system.

During emergency braking, the ABS prevents the tires from locking up, ensuring stability and enabling the driver to make evasive maneuvers effectively.

Additionally, the Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) feature in the VXL variant helps maintain control by distributing the optimal amount of braking force between the front and rear wheels. This further enhances the vehicle’s stability and control during braking maneuvers.

Air Bags

The key differentiating factor between the two variants of the Cultus is the presence of Dual Airbags. The VXL variant has this advanced safety feature, while the VXR variant lacks it. Dual Airbags indicate that both the driver and the front passenger have protection with airbags in the event of a collision or impact.

Front Fog Lights

VXL comes with stylish front fog lights while they’re absent in the Cultus VXR base version.

Other minor differences include;

  1. Electronically Adjustable Side Mirrors: This feature allows the driver to adjust the side mirrors with the push of a button inside the car, making it easier to find the best angle for improved visibility without manually adjusting the mirrors from the outside.
  2. Charging Dock (inside center cup holder) to charge your phone: This feature allows passengers to conveniently charge their mobile phones or other electronic devices while on the go.
  3. Vanity Mirrors: These mirrors are usually located on the sun visors on the driver and front passenger sides. They provide a small mirror that allows occupants to check their appearance, makeup, or hair while inside the car. In the Cultus VXR base version, these vanity mirrors might be absent.
  4. Body Color Side Mirrors and Door handles: In the VXL variant, these components are color-matched with the body of the car, providing a more cohesive and stylish look. In contrast, the Cultus VXR base version might have basic black side mirrors and door handles, which may not be color-coordinated with the rest of the car’s body.
  5. Boot Shelf: The VXL variant may come with a boot shelf, which is a handy accessory that sits above the spare tire in the trunk (boot) area. It provides an additional storage platform, allowing users to separate items in the trunk and prevent them from rolling around during transit.
  6. Front Grill with black highlights: A front grill with black highlights, gives VXL a distinct and sporty appearance compared to the Cultus VXR
  7. 4 Audio Speakers: Both variants likely come with an audio system, but the VXL variant is equipped with four audio speakers, providing a better audio experience and sound distribution throughout the cabin. The Cultus VXR base version has a basic audio system with fewer speakers.

The above-mentioned are the differences between Suzuki Cultus VXR and VXL. Overall New Suzuki Cultus is a perfect hatchback car but with a high price tag.
